Project Holocene

2017 – 2018

I collaborated with artist Russ Ronat on Project Holocene. We first met at Red Room, a community space of artists and expats in Taipei. The idea behind this collaboration is for photographers to capture projections of his paintings of endangered animals into urban settings. The art leaves the gallery space, leaps into the concrete jungle, a juxtaposition with the wild animals depicted, facing extinction. These photographs were taken in Santiago, Chile, at the campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Armed with a projector, 50-feet extension cord, a DSLR, and with the support of two friends.

These photographs were exhibited at the Alabama Zoo in Birmingham, AL, in May 2018, and Savina Museum in Seoul, July 2019.
